Kenana Sugar Company - Rehabilitation of four Pumping Stations

EQ Power & Automation has successfully rehabilitated the Electrical & Automation System at 4 Pumping Stations of Kenana Sugar Company.

Kenana Sugar Company (KSC) is irrigating a sugar cane area of more than 400 square kilometers along the White Nile. Six pumping stations with a capacity of about 40 cubic meters a second send the waters of the White Nile along 40km of Main canal to the plantation area.

In order to ensure the critical function of these already aged stations, KSC decided to rehabilitate the biggest 4 stations.

EQ was chosen for rehabilitating all Electrical & Automation Systems.

EQ’s scope of Supply & services consisted mainly of Basic & Detail-Engineering, Supply and Supervision of Erection of all electrical equipments and Automation System for the 4 Pumping Stations:

900 & 700 kW slip ring motors & rotor starters

Medium and Low Voltage Switchgears

Cabinets for the Automation system

Air-conditioned inplant Switchgear rooms

MV- and LV-cabling
